Caparo acquires channel on Sky TV's EPG

Film24, a new, independent, multi-platform content business, producing high impact programmes and short features about the film industry and films themselves, was co founded by Caparo CEO Angad Paul. Caparo is the principal shareholder of the company along with Nicky Davis and Andrew Burns who are the Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer of Film24. The famous Pinewood Shepperton Studios (where the channel is based) also has a stake. Channel 158 is now branded as Film24 and runs exclusive Film24 content.

The company plans to increase production output to further increase the level of original content broadcast and leverage content to exploit other revenue streams on mobile, internet and other developing platforms.

The ultimate goal for the brand is to be a leading international entertainment portal, synonymous with film, across multiple integrated platforms. Film24 is now actively seeking further investment and brand partners in order to take this growing entertainment brand to the next stage of its development.

Caparo CEO Angad Paul, said of the acquisition “We are very pleased to provide this platform for what we believe will be a rapidly growing international brand in television. Caparo’s main thrust continues to be the rapid growth of its manufacturing division, nevertheless our sometimes forgotten media division is gathering pace. As a television channel Film24 provides the ideal addition to our film production and distribution activities. We are delighted to be working with such solid and experienced people in the UK and we look forward to exploiting Film24’s international possibilities in the not too distant future”.
