Flo-Coat® galvanised steel tube is unique. When it first appeared in the early 1960s it revolutionised the steel tube industry, setting completely new standards of performance.
Flo-Coat® is manufactured in a manner quite unlike any other galvanised tube. The manufacturing process is accomplished ‘in-line’ and fully automatically.
Galvanising and other coating operations take place sequentially as the tube travels from the welding stage, in this way consistency of coating is controlled to tolerances unequalled by any other process.
Flo-Coat’s® triple layer of corrosion protection is 99.99% zinc, followed by a conversion coating, followed by a clear polymer topcoat - provides superior corrosion protection and resistance to primary or ‘white’ rust.
Furthermore, the coatings are flexible and free of inconsistencies, allowing Flo-Coat® to be bent, swaged or flattened with far less risk of surface cracking or flaking.
The result is a smooth, shiny end product that is unmatched in terms of strength and durability.
Unlike conventional galvanised tube, Flo-Coat® is easily welded, thanks to the purity of the zinc coating, keeping lead oxide fumes to an absolute minimum.
Because Flo-Coat® is supplied oil free, extensive pre-cleaning is unnecessary, and the clear polymer topcoat provides a perfect primer for subsequent painting or powder coating.
A range of Flo-Coat® tube products are available, specifically designed for different applications.
